• The Vice-Rector for Research and Graduate Studies of the University, Dr. Patrick Puigmal together with the journalist and delegate of the Napoleon Foundation, Marc Turrel will present this Thursday, December 9th at 11.30 am, the exhibition and the publication, of which are the authors, at the “Gabriela Mistral” hall of the Chuyaca campus.

After a recent presentation in Santiago, this Thursday, December 9th at 11:30 a.m., the Vice-Rector for Research and Graduate Studies of the University, Dr. Patrick Puigmal, together with the journalist and delegate of the Napoleon Foundation, Marc Turrel, will introduce the exhibition and book “The Gallery of the Illustrious. Three centuries of the French presence in Chile”.

The exhibition – consisting of 50 panels – gathers, like the book, long years of research by Dr. Patrick Puigmal, with details of the legacy in Chile of 70 masters, physicists, botanists, naturalists, geologists, cartographers, archaeologists, doctors, artists, photographers, and engineers, as well as renowned adventurers and soldiers of the French Revolution and Napoleon’s first empire.

It should be noted that the exhibition will travel through most of Chile until the end of 2022: in January and February it will be installed in Valdivia; in March it will return to Santiago to the central house of the U. de Chile; in April it will be at the U. de Concepción; in May at the French Alliance in La Serena; in June at the U. de Los Andes in Santiago; and finally, during the second semester of 2022, “the Gallery of the Illustrious” will be presented in Chiloe and Punta Arenas, although other cities could be added.
