Once again, a majority of foreign women students chose to do an internship at the Universidad de Los Lagos, within the careers taught at the regional university.

“In the field of education, Chile has the indices of South America and that is very attractive. In addition, I want to know Chileans personally and to know myself and my culture” said Araceli Pérez, a student at the National University of Central Peru, who will study courses in Political and Administrative Sciences at the Puerto Montt Campus.

A total of 21 exchange students will be on the Puerto Montt and Osorno campuses during the second semester doing subjects as part of their professional training. At the beginning of their activities, authorities of ULagos welcomed them to the day held this week in the regional capital. “We are glad you elected us and hope you have a nice experience with us,” said Oscar Diaz, director of international relations at the Universidad de Los Lagos.

The Puerto Montt Campus will have as foreign students Araceli Pérez and Imelda Julcarima of the National University of Central Peru and Teresa Bravo of the Autonomous University of San Luis de Potosi of Mexico, taking courses in Political and Administrative Sciences (Cipol); To Victor Hugo Esquivel, Monserrat Montenegro and Maria Fernanda Jiménez of the Mexican University of Guadalajara in the courses of Architecture and Pedagogy in Visual Arts; Guadalupe Narez of the Autonomous University of the State of Morelos (Mexico) and José Vazquez of the University of Seville (Spain) in Architecture. “I wanted to know the south of Chile, its forests, lakes and volcanoes. I come from a warm and desert area and what strikes me the most is the nature they have here,” confessed Monserrat Montenegro.

”It enriches us that you are here with us, because you can bring much with your culture to our students. I hope it will be an enriching trip for you too,” said Paola Alvarado, Academic Director of the Puerto Montt Campus.
