The event will be held the 28th and 29th of November in the Aula Magna of the Universidad del Biobio, in Chillan and has the sponsorship of the Inter-American Organization for Higher Education (IOHE), chaired by the rector of the ULagos Óscar Garrido.
With the purpose of consolidate a meeting platform among academics, managers and professionals from Ibero-American universities to share knowledge, new knowledge and discuss proposals and experiences in the field of university governance, our House of Studies will co-organize the VII International Congress on Research in University Governance CIIGUN 2019.

The main promoter of the Congress is the research collective University Governance whose main objective is to promote and improve research on the assessment of university performance in Ibero-America.
The leader of this group and also researcher of the institution and founder of the Congress, Dr. Francisco Ganga-Contreras, expresses that the collective has as concern “the way in which universities are organized and estructured and how they are administrated from the perspective of its governance and management; also incorporating the design they have to establish and manage their links and relationships with entities and entities in the environment”.
In the activities developed by the group of researchers are: publications, academic stances, research proyects, anual congresses and seminars celebrated in Latin America.
History
The first Congress was done in Santiago in the 27th and 28th of September, 2013, Thirteen papers were previously received, of which eleven were finally presented at the event, corresponding to academics and researchers from four countries: Argentina, Mexico, Venezuela and Chile.
It should be noted that the event was held three times outside Chile: at the Faculty of Political Science and International Relations of the UANL, Mexico (2017) and at the Universidad de La Salle, Canoas, Brazil (2015 and 2018). In this latest edition of 2018, CIIGUN had 150 registered as attendees and 87 papers from 6 countries were presented: Brazil, Chile, Mexico, Colombia, Venezuela and Argentina.
For the seventh version of the Congress the main topics to debate will be: “Government and organization of universities”; “Strategic planning and financial management of universities”; “University governance and inclusion policies” and “Good practices in academic and administrative management of universities”.
Together with ULagos, the event is co-organized by the University of Biobío, the University Governance research collective and the University of La Salle, Canoas, Brazil.
